Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane has instructed the CIB of the police to take action against the accused according to the report submitted by the commission formed to investigate gold smuggling. Home Minister's instructions to the police to take immediate action on gold smuggling

Former Speaker and Maoist Vice President Krishna Bahadur Mahara, his son Rahul, former Vice President's son Dipesh Pun and foreign expert Jeevan Gurung were involved in the smuggling of 61 kg of gold that was brought secretly in Brak Su on July 2 and 9 kg of gold that was brought in electronic cigarettes (Vape) in December 2079. After continuous news was published in the media saying that the police had given them immunity, there was a demand in the parliament to investigate the truth.

The commission was formed under the leadership of former judge Dilliraj Acharya last August after the then opposition UML and Rashtriya Swatantra Party parliamentarians blocked the parliament for about a month. The Ministry of Home Affairs has taken the lead in implementing the report submitted by the commission.

"The Home Minister has asked to study and implement the report immediately so that the results can be seen," said an official from the Home Minister's Secretariat. CIB spokesperson Hovindra Bogti also said that the report will be studied and implemented. "The mistakes, suggestions, recommendations, investigations and investigations pointed out by the commission are implemented after looking at them," he said, adding that the CIB will take action as per the jurisdiction and law. According to another official of CIB, they are ready to investigate the smuggling case and file a supplementary charge according to the report.

The records of Mahara Babuchhora's 256 phone conversations with gold smugglers were submitted to the Kathmandu District Court through the CIB and District Public Prosecutor's Office. It was found in the police investigation that Mahara Babuchhora pressured the government officials to release the gold brought in VEP after it was stopped at the customs. Even when evidence was found, the Public Prosecutor's Office Kathmandu did not register a case against them in the court to give immunity to former Speaker Mahara and his son.

Similarly, it was found that there was an exchange of information about smuggling between Dawa Chiring, a Chinese citizen who lived in Bardia and the main Nike of the gold smuggler. But according to the report, the CIB gave him a chance to escape by tearing the statement paper he made with the driver. The operator has been claiming that he only has a business relationship with Dawa.

Dawa's wife Amala Roka of Rolpa has also been deported, it is mentioned in the report. It has been found that Amala has a business relationship with Maoist Vice President Mahara and his son Rahul, Dipesh, son of former Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun. Although the son Rahul remained in prison for the preliminary investigation, the father Mahara was acquitted.

The then CIB chief AIG Kiran Vajracharya, SP Sanjaysingh Thapa, DSP Rugam Kunwar and Durga Dahal have been recommended in the report to take departmental action and put them under surveillance. These 4 police officers have been transferred and departmental action is pending. Similarly, the then director general of the immigration department, Jhalakram Adhikari, has been recommended to take further investigation and departmental action. Although it was found that there was an exchange of business-related messages on the mobile between the officer and Nike Dawa, the CIB took his statement, but did not bring it into the scope of the case. Former IGP Sarvendra Khanal and Dheeraj Pratap Singh's relationship with the Nikes of the smuggling group has also been pointed out in the report. According to a member of the commission, it is recommended to keep them under surveillance. It has been suggested to take departmental action against Vasudev Sharma and Janakraj Ghimire of the Public Prosecutor's Office on the charge of negligence while prosecuting the

case. Jeevan Kumar Gurung, the foreign affairs expert of former Vice President Pun, has been asked to investigate further. A case has been filed against Gurung on charges of smuggling 138 kg of gold on Friday.

While bringing 14 kg of gold from Dubai through Tribhuvan International Airport, Gurung was dragged into the investigation of the Customs Office after Chandra Ghale and Meen Ghale of Gorkha were arrested on November 21. Gurung has been charged with smuggling 138 kg of gold using the Ghale group in the last one year. A case has been filed against 10 people on that charge. 8 people are in jail and 2 people are absconding.

Acharya Jachambujh Commission has pointed out that the owner of Vid Lab and former deputy Subba Bhimkant Bhandari, the owner of Hotel Vienna, Manjil Shrestha, and businessman Subupratap KC also have unusual relations with the gold smuggling group.

Order to investigate MP Chaudhary in Bansbari case

Home Minister Lamichhane has directed to investigate Congress MP and industrialist Vinod Chaudhary in the case of possession of 10 ropani land of Bansbari leather shoe factory. Home Minister Lamichhane gave the instructions to Home Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, Inspector General of Police Vasant Kunwar and AIG Shyam Gyawali, Chief of Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police.

According to Home Minister Lamichhane's press coordinator Pramod Neupane, Chaudhary's statement will be taken after instructions. The home minister has instructed to start the process of bringing 10 ropani land of the bamboo leather shoe factory under the government. For that, the Central Investigation Bureau of Police is going to take a statement to bring Vinod Chaudhary and others in the investigation process," said Neupane. Vinod's brother Arun Chaudhary was arrested in the land case on January 18. CIB arrested CG Holdings Chairman and Managing Director Arun Chaudhary along with Ajit Narayan Singh Thapa, Chairman of Bansbari Leather Shoe Company Limited and Sanjay Thakur, Chairman of Board of Directors, on the charge of misappropriation of government land of the factory.

By the order of District Court Kathmandu, they have been released on bail. But the CIB said that it is continuing the investigation into fraud and fraud. Home Minister Lamichhane has given strict instructions to bring Arun's brother Vinod under the scope of investigation. Vinod has been accused of being acquitted by not bringing him under the scope of investigation on the basis of access. Land Reforms and Lands Office Kathmandu had issued a 21-day notice in the name of Champion Footwear in the last week of January to bring 10 plants of Bansbari land under the name of the government.

Champion Foot Wear, which was registered in the company registrar's office on October 27, 2043, purchased 10 ropani land from the then Bansbari leather shoe company for the purpose of producing cloth shoes. In it, along with members of the Chaudhary family, Bansbari leather shoe company was also a shareholder. However, it is claimed that there was collusion while taking the land and after three years Champion Footwear was closed and the entire land was taken over. The shoe factory established by the Chinese government in July 2022 was spread over 83 plants. The Board of Directors had decided to sell the land due to the fact that the company was continuously incurring losses. In this process, the board of directors sold 10 ropani (twice) land to Champion Footwear for 2.5 lakhs at the rate of 2.5 lakhs per plant. Bansbari got 2500 shares of Champion Footwear to be equal to the total value of the land at 25 lakh rupees.

In this way, while Bansbari is the 25 percent shareholder in Champion, the remaining 75 percent shares are held in the name of Vinod, Arun, Vasant, Babu Lunkarandas, Didi Gangadevi and cousin Mahesh Kumar Agarwal of the Chaudhary family, it was discovered by CIB's investigation. CIB claims that while 2.5 million was taken from the appraisal of the land of the bamboo plantation for the 25 percent share in Champion Footwear, the Chaudhary family paid only 8 million for the 75 percent share.

After taking 25 percent of the shares of Bansbari, Champion Footwear Limited was made a private company. In this process, the other members of the Chaudhary family left and the ownership of Arun and his wife Sheela remained. On October 25, 2066, it was found that this land was registered in the name of Arun Choudhary by the Dillibazar Malpot Office. Champion Footwear Pvt Ltd has now become 'CG Chandbagh Residency Pvt Ltd' and now Chandbagh School is being run on this land.
