Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayankaji Shrestha is on a 9-day visit to China. What Minister Shrestha will bring from this visit cannot be said now, but it is not proper for a minister to visit one country for such a long time. The foreign ministers of countries like India, China, America, UK, Japan do not stay for more than 24 hours or 48 hours when visiting other countries.

In the case of Nepal, the behavior of India and China is not very friendly. Nepal signed the in-principle agreement on the BRI project and later an agreement was reached. But till date that project has not progressed in Nepal. The agreement on transport and transit was also not implemented.

The issue of China building a fuel depot in Nepal's border area was also lost. Nepal needs grants from China, not loans, but China only wants to carry loans. At least if China changed the 22 billion loan for the construction of Pokhara Airport into a grant, it would have been a great help.

Even after 10 years have passed since China undertook to complete the ring road of Nepal, only 10 km out of 27 km has been completed. Work on other projects undertaken by Chinese contractors is also slow. Both China and India are similar in taking and holding projects. The foreign minister should have a serious talk with China on this issue.

India calls Nepal a close friend but behaves like an enemy. Fear of load shedding has arisen in Nepal due to non-renewal of permission to purchase electricity from the competitive market. India wants to take electricity, not give it.

India is reluctant to add two-way airways for international flights, which has affected international flights from Nepal. India repeatedly creates obstacles in Nepali agricultural production under the pretext of quarantine. Both India and China should think about these issues.
