Lockdown affects studies in Patan and Askal campuses

In the Patan campus, Navy Sangh, Akhil Revolutionaries and Aneraswaviyu (Socialists) have also barred the campus head Lakshman Singh Kunwar from entering.

The student organization has jointly locked down demanding to provide computers, books in the library, chamena house and water supply. The campuses reported that the lockdown during the examination was inconvenient.

Patan Campus Professors Association said that due to the lockdown, the educational administration of Nepali, English, Geography, Political Science, History, Buddhist Studies, Nepali Language and Home Science departments could not be done. The president of the association, Ram Bahadur KC, said that the heads of departments were not even allowed to go to their office. The union has warned that even the professors who are uncomfortable till Sunday will not participate in the class for 3 days.

A teacher of the Patan campus said that despite the academic demands being made externally, the student body was locked out by internally seeking participation in the appointment of contractual staff. The tender for the computer has been done. A notice has appeared in the newspaper to operate the canteen. Books have also arrived in the library. Water supply is being arranged,' he said, 'After the advertisement for the appointment of contract employees, they locked themselves out by making unnecessary demands.' Tara Sharma, president of Navy Sangh, Birendra Magar, president of Akhil Krantikari and Prem Budha, president of Aneraswaviyu Samajwadi, have started the lockdown. 4 student unions, including Amalenikat Aneraswaviyu, have demanded to open the lockout and solve the problem through discussion.

Campus head Kunwar said that he could not even enter the campus for 10 days due to the lockdown. "Despite sitting in negotiations, no decision has been reached. Askal campus has been locked by ANERASWVIU since March 25. Campus head Lok Bahadur Baral has issued an appeal asking the students to come to the talks. The students of Askal are also divided because of the lockout with non-academic demands. Swaviyu president Prem Jaisi said that they should be opened because they have locked down due to non-academic demands. Akhil Revolutionaries and Navy Association Askal are also against the lockdown.

The campus has locked down non-students who were arrested for assaulting students to force them to enroll. Ganesh Shahi, who was involved in the beating inside the campus, has been arrested and detained by the police. According to a teacher, Aneraswawiyu has pressured him to admit him, while the campus administration has taken a stand against it.

Campus administration, finance, examination branch and the office of the assistant campus head was locked due to the disruption of academic and administrative work, said the head Baral.
