Youth and Sports Minister Virajbhakta Shrestha, who is on a visit to Korea, met with Jang Mi-ran, the second deputy minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of South Korea on Monday.

In the meeting, Sports Minister Shrestha informed about the High Altitude Training Center to be built in Shailung, Nepal. He said that the government of Nepal has allocated a budget for the training center and will proceed with priority. Deputy Minister Mi-Ran promised to visit the center.

Greetings were exchanged on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between South Korea and Nepal. According to the Ministry of Sports, cultural exchange between the two countries was also discussed.

It is said that there was a positive discussion about the construction of a meditation center for the youth in Nepal. Mi-Ran is an Olympic gold medalist and four-time world champion weightlifter.

Minister Shrestha, who is on an official visit to South Korea at the invitation of the Korean government, is scheduled to meet the president of the Korean Sports and Olympic Committee, Lee-Ki-hung, and the president of the World Taekwondo Federation, Chungwon Chao, on Tuesday.
