A year after the completion of the Shaheed Bhimnarayan Gold Cup football tournament, the expenditure has been announced. Organizers announced the income and expenses of the competition held in Baisakh 2080 through a press conference on Monday, the last week of the year. Shaheed Bhimnarayan Smriti Pratishthan Dhankuta, the organizer of the competition, reported that the income of the 15th edition of the Gold Cup was 35 lakh 81 thousand 800 rupees. Similarly, tournament coordinator Shambhu Pradhan informed that 33 lakh 86 thousand 466 rupees were spent.

He said that last year, Rs 195,334 was saved. Coordinator Pradhan said that there was relatively little support from the municipalities in the district to conduct the competition. Purendralal Shrestha, the chairman of the organizing foundation, informed that the announcement of the income and expenditure was delayed due to the fact that funds were not received in time from individuals and organizations for the prize and game projects in the competition.

'Because the municipality's interest in sports is decreasing, we get less support than we expected,' Pradhan said. The 15th edition of the

competition, which has been running since 2055, was completed last year. Last year, eight groups from Nepal and India participated.

Purendralal Shrestha, president of the foundation informed that coordination with the organizers Dhankuta, Sunsari, Morang, Jhapa, APF, NRT, Machindra, Sirha and other football clubs to participate in the competition this year.

The organizers said that the cash prize for the previous year's winner is 5 lakh and 250 thousand for the runner-up, this year it will be increased. However, the organizer did not want to disclose the amount to be increased. Manohar Narayan Shrestha, patron of the Shaheed Bhimnarayan Memorial Foundation and son of the martyr, said that there is a plan to raise an Akshaya fund to run the competition.
