There has been an increase in the number of central level leaders of the main parties reaching Bajhang regarding the by-election of the Bajhang Provincial Assembly (1). Central level leaders of Congress, UML and Maoists are now reaching Bajhang to win their candidates in the by-elections to be held on 15th Baisakh.

The race for the central leader increased in Bajhang

The by-election is about to be held after Prithvi Bahadur Singh, a member of the provincial assembly elected from the Nepali Congress, passed away in a road accident last June. The parties have said that the by-elections are viewed with importance as the member of the provincial assembly who wins from Bajhang is important in the arithmetic required for the formation of the government of the far western province.

Congress has fielded Abhishek Bahadur Singh, son of late MP Singh, UML has fielded Daman Bhandari and Maoist Center has fielded Janak Budha as its candidate.

Congress central member Ran Bahadur Rawal has been deployed in Bajhang since the nomination to win his candidate. The party has also given him the charge of Bajhang. Former foreign minister NP Saud, former minister Govinda Bahadar Shah, Congress central member and former mayor of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city Nrip Od and other leaders have also arrived in Bajhang on Wednesday . In charge Rawal said that Badri Pandey, Pradeep Poudel, Umeshjung Rayamazhi and other leaders are scheduled to come to Bajhang within a few days.

UML has made the central leaders active in Bajhang even before the nomination to win their candidate . UML standing committee member and former minister Karna Bahadur Thapa, UML politburo member and former chief minister of Sudurpaschim Rajendra Rawal, central member and former Constituent Assembly member Afilal Okheda, state committee president Krishna Prasad Jaishi and other leaders are running to win their candidates in Bajhang. UML said that other central level leaders are also coming.

Deputy Secretary General of CPN Maoist Center and former minister Girirajmani Pokharel, another party of the power coalition, has deployed in Bajhang to create public opinion in favor of his party's candidate, Janak Budha. Along with Pokharel, central member Om Prakash Pun is also active in the Ghardailo campaign. Budha, the Maoist candidate, said that some other central level leaders are also preparing to come to help him.

'From the center to the village level, the leaders-activists are excited to win the Congress,' said Rawal, in-charge of the Congress He said that he is getting a lot of sympathy from the voters because he is a person.

Afilal Okheda, a central member of CPN-UML and a former member of the Constituent Assembly, claimed that his candidate would win and said that there was a public wave in favor of the UML. The question of the arithmetic of the state assembly is being asked. We are confident that we will win because this region has been held by UML since the beginning,' he said, 'even if we lose in the previous election due to the alliance, we are confident that we will win on the basis of UML being the largest party.' He claimed to increase the attraction of the people.

Similarly, Janak Budha, the candidate of the Maoist Center, said that he is connected with every question of the people of Bajhangi and that he is the strongest candidate. "He has experience working as a member of the Constituent Assembly and working in the Prime Minister's team." In this sense, I am the strongest candidate in Bajhang," he said, "I believe that the people will support me this time because I have been supporting them in every issue of the people after the peace process. Our presence in this area is not low.'

In the last election, the Congress, Maoists and Socialists contested the election here. Swargiya Singh, who was a candidate on behalf of the alliance, won by getting 17 thousand 112 votes, while his nearest competitor Afilal Okheda of UML got 13 thousand 376 votes.
