The country cannot move forward in the status quo: Oli

Mentioning that the current need is entrepreneurship and professionalism, Oli said that agriculture should be modernized and employment opportunities should be created with the modernization of agriculture. He said that in order to rise from poverty, we should increase the production of coarse rice grown in our own country, not fine rice.

'In the current situation, the country is not in a position to move forward . One should not insist . The need of the moment is entrepreneurship and professionalism. Entrepreneurship and commercialism modernize agriculture. Modernization of agriculture creates many employment opportunities, agro-based small scale industries and it can gradually turn into large scale industries . Agriculture-based industry can take the form of an export-oriented industry,' Oli said, 'What we have to worry about now is that we have got used to eating junk food, let those who are used to eating junk food eat. But not fine, we have to eat thick rice. He had to rise from poverty. Fine rice does not yield as much as coarse rice. It should be brought to fruition. We are saying that we should take it towards modernization, we should take it towards the use of technology, but the government has not been able to formulate a policy in this regard . A solid policy should be made. There should be a concrete policy, what should be done?'

President Oli said that the village has become deserted now that the products produced in the mountains have stopped making a living. He said that Nepal's biggest challenge at present is to bring the population below the absolute poverty line to a condition where they can eat.

President Oli also said that he asked Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal not to get involved in petty appointments, but to consider the situation and move forward.
