Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that Lumbini should be made a center of Buddhist philosophy study and meditation in the world. Addressing the 2568th Buddha Jayanti ceremony held in Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, on Thursday morning, he also said that Lumbini Buddhist University has been established to make a center for the study of Buddhist philosophy.
"For this, an effective role of Lumbini Buddhist University is necessary," he said.
Mentioning that Lumbini has always sent a message for the establishment of peace in the world through peace and dialogue, he recalled that the second Buddhist summit was held in 2004. "Since then, organizing the summit is not possible," he said, "The government will organize the third summit soon, be ready for that." Said .
"The entire nation is requested to help complete the said nomination," he said, "since the 47th General Assembly of the United Nations will decide, we have called with the expectation of support."
