After the formation of the new power equation, the high-level team of the Maoist Center, the party led by the government, is busy on a 10-day visit. At the invitation of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC), he went on a visit to China under the leadership of General Secretary Dev Gurung. Before that, the Maoist team reached Hunan on Monday and discussed with the Communist Party chief there.
The Maoist team had a meeting with Liu Chinchao, head of the CPC International Department, in Beijing on Saturday. During the meeting, there was a discussion about further expansion of relations between the Maoists and the CPC, informed Om Sharma, Head of the Department of Migration, who was in the visiting team.
"Especially the discussion focused on strengthening the relationship between the two communist parties," he said. In the
meeting, CPC foreign department chief Liu stated that it is good to have cooperation between the left wing in Nepal and expressed the opinion that CPC is willing to work with the Maoists by expanding the relationship.
After the new power equation between the UML and the Maoists, China has been expressing its satisfaction and has been suggesting that it would be appropriate for the left wing to merge in Nepal. Secretary General Gurung seems close to the policy taken by China. He opposed the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) project and held the opinion that it should not be implemented in Nepal.
Similarly, the Maoist team also met with Hunan Province Party Secretary Sen Chao Ming. After that, there is a schedule to visit Kuichow province. General Secretary Gurung, Standing Committee Member Parashuram Tamang, Kamala Roka, Central Member Om Sharma and others are in the visiting team that left on May 5.
Gurung also visited China in July 2080. Last May, a high-level team led by Vice President Agni Prasad Sapkota visited China.
