The election of the vice president of the National Assembly will be held on Wednesday 28th of Chait. The Speaker of the National Assembly, Narayan Dahal, informed the House by fixing the date for the election of the Vice President.
After the resignation of Vice President Urmila Aryal, the post is vacant. Speaker Dahal directed Secretary General Padam Prasad Pandey of the Federal Parliament to publish the program related to the election of the Vice President.
There is a provision in the National Assembly that the President and Vice President cannot be from the same party or the same gender. Dahal, who was elected as the president, was elected from the CPN Maoist Center. Aryal, who became the vice president from the Maoist center after Dahal became the president, has resigned.
