Every year on the full moon day of Vaishakh Shukla Purnima, the Umbholi festival celebrated by the Kirant Rai community is being celebrated today with worship and worship in all parts of the country. For this reason, the day of Baisakh Shukla Purnima is also called Chandi Purnima.
Sakela dance is also danced among different sects of the Kirant community. The people of Ainselukhark Rural Municipality of Khotang have prepared to celebrate this festival after 22nd of June. The people of Ainselukhark have a tradition of celebrating this festival after June 22 every year.
Some people in the Kirant community also celebrate Umbholi festival on the 1st of January, the day Uttarayan begins. Undhauli is celebrated on 1st of July after the day of Dakshinayan begins. Many people of this community celebrate Onbhauli Baisakh Shukla Purnima and Undhauli Parva Margashirsha Shukla Purnima days. This festival is an important festival of Kirant Rai community.
