Three containers that reached Khasa on Saturday from the Chinese border of Zhangmu, i.e. Tatopani, reached the stage of entering Liping region with 30 tons of apples on Sunday. China's main commercial area Khasa is 124 km away from Kathmandu and Rasuwagadhi is 164 km away. Sigatse is less than 30 km from Tatopani than Kerung. He says that it takes only a few days for the materials from any market or company from China to reach Tatopani from Khasa. In particular, there is a Chinese policy of allowing Nepali containers to go if there are other materials. However, because Khasa Bazar is currently being reconstructed, only certain containers have been allowed to move around.

Dayanand KC, head of Tatopani dry port and customs office, said that some improvements are being made at the border as China expands import and export. From Tatopani till now, 8 containers worth about 10 million worth of Muda, frames and other materials have reached Lhasa, China and other markets. "Exports are increasing while the containers are reaching across, while imports are increasing, fruits and other materials including clothes have arrived from 12 containers daily," KC said.
