On October 21, 2076, the Ghimire couple suffered a spinal cord injury when their vehicle met with an accident on their way to Gulmi. Children and son-in-law were also injured in the incident. They have recovered after treatment. The Ghimire couple underwent treatment for almost 9 months after the incident.

Spent more than 80 lakh rupees by taking out a loan . However, they could not return to the previous state . After returning home, many people came to see . Everyone comforted . Add excitement . "That also gave me the energy to do something," Ghimire said, "slowly I gathered courage." I got to understand life. Ghimire said that the courage and confidence to do something increased when people who were suffering like him came and started sharing their feelings.

In the year 2078, he participated in capacity building training for spinal cord injury patients in Kathmandu. Representing Lumbini Province, I got the opportunity to participate in the training. He said that he has changed a lot after the training.

"After that, Uturn came in my life," he said, "I thought that even if it was a little, I could help the poor and needy affected by these diseases." A wheelchair is an indispensable companion for spinal cord injury patients. Its price ranges from 60 thousand to 1 lakh rupees. He also works as a wheel chair repairer . He says that he will repair not only his own, but also other people's broken wheel chair . Its users are few . That is why it is not possible to repair it.

Its parts are not found in Nepal . There is no mason to make a mess . Without a wheel chair, the patient has to live a difficult life on bed. Seeing all this, he is able to make a wheel chair by looking at a mobile phone. A wheel chair repair center has been built in one room of the house. Bought the repair tools themselves . He takes care and repairs.

As contact coordination increases, he has repaired 10 wheelchairs in 3 years. He said that he repaired and sent wheelchairs from Butwal to Dang, Rolpa and Pyuthan. "Now I have become a wheelchair expert in Kaligarh," he said, "I coordinated and distributed 116 wheelchairs to the district from an organization in Kathmandu."

Spinal cord injury patients respect him a lot. It has made life easier for many patients. The monthly disability allowance received by the couple is also spent for the benefit of the poor and needy with spinal cord injury.

His house is in Chandrauta Bazar on East-West highway . He has built a new disabled-friendly residence for a person with spinal paralysis to stay if there is any problem while traveling on the highway. Rice and lentils have been arranged for food. Vegetables are grown in the garden .

"Staying is free no matter how many days you stay," he said, "I have made such an arrangement so that the patients with spinal paralysis do not suffer." So far 8 more patients have come and stayed here. Wife Batuli Kumari said that she got a lot of enthusiasm from her husband's work. "It was not enough," she said, "Now to be able to enjoy this is the essence of life." Getting around in a wheel chair became a problem. It became expensive. Then the state group was dissolved. District Level Spinal Cord Injury Group Nepal formed in Kapilvastu. He went to the administration office and registered himself. Went to understand the certificate .

They have built a building by spending 7 lakhs for the organization's office operation and accommodation for patients. Has operated the office of the organization. He is maintaining the office himself. They have also established a clothing bank there. Collected clothes are washed and sewn and distributed to the poor and needy.

In the beginning, Khumraj, who said that there were no spinal paralysis patients in the district, has now collected 73 patients. He says that the goal is to organize a campaign to make every physical structure of the state handicap-friendly by organizing patients from all over the country as the situation is getting easier. His social service work has now increased his contacts in many parts of the country. He said that it gave him more energy and encouragement to work.

'I hear the pain of many friends . I encourage them to do better," he said. I also get complacent. There are more than 8,000 spinal paralysis patients across the country.' Now he has become like a motivational trainer. He is now reaching 10 local levels of the district and submitting a memorandum demanding to make policies, programs and plans for disabled people.

The daily life of a patient with spinal paralysis is very difficult . is financially expensive . Two years ago, he started the business by rearing two hundred local chickens. Later, 400 boilers were added. In the beginning, they used to reach the market themselves for marketing . Good business is becoming business . Later, the merchant himself came home and started taking them. It made it easier for him . The couple's medicine expenses have been raised from the income of the chicken.

He is excited about poultry farming and has also started fish farming by making a small pond. They are also going to start vegetable cultivation on 6 kattha land in the market. "Even though we can't walk, our parents are happy, this is a happy moment for us," said son Madhav Ghimire. He said that he became a source of inspiration for the family and society by working like Sablang even in pain. "Now the pain has disappeared," said Madhav.

Khumraj, who has been suffering from spinal paralysis for four years, is sometimes very sad. "Why does it feel like I'm alive?," he said, "But I can't show that pain to others."
