Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Jokh Bahadur Mahara and three ministers have taken the oath of office and secrecy.
Chief Minister Mahara and three other non-departmental ministers took oath before the provincial chief Amik Shecharan at the provincial chief's office in Butwal.
Mahara was appointed as the Chief Minister on Friday with the support of 48 provincial assembly members including UML, Maoist, Civil Liberties, JSP, CPN United Socialist Party and one independent.
On Sunday, Chief Minister Mahara took the oath of office and secrecy and expanded the cabinet by including the supporting parties. Along with Chief Minister Mahara, UML's Chetnarayan Acharya, Maoist Center's Dipendra Pun and JSPA's Bhandarilal Ahir also took oath as ministers.
Ministers are without departments as the distribution of ministries has not been decided. Acharya of UML has become a minister for the third time after being elected for the second term from Arghakhanchi in the state assembly. Similarly, Jaspa's Bhandarilal Ahir resigned as the Minister of Agriculture and Land Management on Thursday.
Currently there are 10 ministries in Lumbini province. The parties of the ruling coalition are also discussing the addition of ministries.
Maoist Lumbini state president Sudarshan Baral said that the cabinet will be expanded after the chief minister takes the vote of confidence. He said that the responsibilities of the non-departmental minister will be assigned after further discussion among the coalition parties about which ministry will be given to whom.
