A meeting was held between Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane and Israel's Ambassador to Nepal Hanan Godar. Ambassador Godar reached the Home Ministry on Monday to meet Lamichhane.
According to Pramod Neupane, a member of the Home Minister's Secretariat, the issue of strengthening relations between the two countries was discussed along with issues such as Nepali citizens in Israel, Bipin Joshi, who was captured by Hamas.
'The Deputy Prime Minister and the Ambassador discussed various issues including the current situation of Nepali citizens in Israel, scholarships for Nepali students and the safe return of Bipin Joshi to Nepal,' Neupane said, 'The Deputy Prime Minister and the Home Minister wished for a peaceful solution to the conflict between Israel and Palestine . Ambassador Godar expressed that based on the assessment of the situation there, concrete steps will be taken by discussing the issues that will be facilitated for family reunification and visits.'
Minister of Home Affairs Lamichhane and Ambassador Godar also discussed the areas of cooperation between Nepal and Israel. It is said that there was a discussion on how cooperation can be done in the fields of agriculture, information technology, job creation etc. Similarly, it is said that more cooperation was also discussed to expand and strengthen the relationship between Nepal and Israel.
Ambassador Godar informed Deputy Prime Minister Lamichhane that the Israeli government is also concerned about the condition of Vipin Joshi and that the Israeli government has started providing relief allowances to the families of 10 Nepalis who lost their lives with him.
