The opinion of the district chairpersons is divided on whether to join the alliance or not

Congress leaders are debating whether it is right or wrong to form an alliance, forgetting dozens of agendas of national politics in the General Committee meeting in Lalitpur's Godavari from Monday.

General Minister Gagan Thapa has submitted a proposal in the general committee meeting to ensure that party voters will be allowed to vote only on tree symbols in any election, saying that the party was weak in the past alliance. Leaders and general committee members who are speaking in the ongoing group discussion on the proposals have also held different views .

Moreover, Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba tried to prevent that proposal of General Minister Thapa from coming to the meeting. At that time, the founding party tried not to make the matter of the alliance a topic of discussion, while the non-founding party took a clear decision that the alliance should not be made.

Even the leaders who spoke in the General Committee meeting on the proposal were divided into factions. Even the district presidents have divided opinion on whether to join the alliance or not. Syangja Chairman Raju Thapa mentioned that the alliance was made according to the people's mandate and insisted that it is not appropriate to decide whether to make an alliance after four years now.

'The opposition party CPN-UML is now in the strategy of breaking the alliance. There seems to be a growing concern among the people that federalism has become expensive,' he said.

Sunsari Chairman Kedar Bhandari said that the practice of saying that the alliance is right if his people are there, and wrong if they are not. He insisted that there was no mistake by the Congress in Koshi.

'UML should be weakened. Don't upset the Maoists too much . The alliance should not be made upside down . It is not possible to decide whether or not to form an alliance from here now. A lot of things seem to bypass the district . The chairman should come to the district committee after an institutional discussion. When the center decides to weaken the district, the hearts of the workers are hurt,' he said, 'the party also had to give a clear opinion on the nomination of Koshi.'

Yogendra Panjiar, chairman of Dhanusha, said that Congress is weak in Madhesh due to the alliance and said that the general committee meeting should take a clear decision about not forming an alliance. 'Coalition will get power. There may be immediate benefits. But the party is not formed,' he said, 'due to the alliance, a negative attitude towards the party has developed.'

Chairman of Jhapa Deuman Thewe also said that the matter of alliance cannot be touched now . 'It would be okay to talk about alliances towards 083. No need to rush now . By-elections are going to be held in Elam, it will affect there too,' he said, 'We are in government in 7 provinces because of alliance. Our lips were dry because there was no alliance. What happens when all seven provinces and unions go? KP Oli said to make another alliance.'

Kailali President Narayanadatta Bhatt said that the party should pay attention to how to activate the provincial committees and how to take them to villages. "There has been a question about when to hold the convention, if it cannot be done on time, then it will be done according to the provisions of the constitution, if not, the use of the article of the constitution will be extended by five years and six months." He said that even though the issue of non-alignment may be passed, now is not the time to make a decision. He said that there may be a situation to regret if you work with emotions. He said that the law should be strictly followed and factions should be put to an end.

Parsa Chairman Janardash Singh Chhetri said that there is no need to talk about the alliance now. He said that it is necessary to understand the condition of the party when the alliance was not formed in 2074. But President of Siraha Ramchandra Yadav argued that although the alliance is mandatory to go to the government, it is not necessary to make an alliance before the election. He claimed that the Congress has become weak in Madhesh due to the electoral alliance.

Dhankuta District President Dinesh Rai also opined that there should be no electoral alliance. He accused the Congress leaders of putting oil in their ears while the nomination of Koshi region was getting complicated. Gorkha President Nanda Prasad Neupane said that due to the electoral alliance, the Congress is now unable to stand on its own feet. "There has been a problem in Gorkha because the ideas of the coalition parties did not agree. "Congress has a great contribution in Nepali society and should stick to its ideas and principles," he said, "The electoral alliance has weakened the party's ground". Therefore, let's move forward with a clear decision by the General Committee on the issue of non-alignment.'

Chairman of Dhading Ramnath Adhikari also said that the party is disappointed due to the alliance. He said that he should immediately make a clear opinion about not forming an electoral alliance again.

Morang District Chairman and Youth and Sports Minister Dig Bahadur Limbu said that the decision of the General Committee meeting cannot be reversed by the Central Committee. He opined that the right to distribute active membership should be given to the district. Chairman of Makwanpur Buddha Lama said that the Congress should be linked with development and should lead to end corruption.

Baglung Chairman Jit Bahadur Sherchen said that the party should overcome the disappointment and move on. He opined that it was a matter of alliance strategy and that should be decided at that time. Chairman of Nawalparasi Mahendra Jisi told the people that the state government is a clown. Jit Prakash Ale, the District Chairman of Tanahun, said that the youth exodus is increasing and a situation is being created where there are no qualified people to be placed in the party structure at the local level.

Executive Chairman of Surkhet Top Bahadur Rawat mentioned that the policy of the Congress is one of cooperation and expressed the view that the alliance should not be made a policy but a strategic matter.

Maniram Regmi, chairman of Dolakha, said that it is necessary to pass the proposals presented in the General Committee meeting and move forward. Chairman of Jumla, Karna Bahadur Shahi, asked to give the authority to the district working committee to decide whether to form an alliance or not.
