Machindra Football Club defeated Sangrila Football Club Morang 2-0 in extra time and won the title of Virat Gold Cup football tournament at Shanishar Shaheed Ground.

Since 2018, this historical tournament has been held in the name of Mahendra Gold Cup in this ground until the 28th edition. It was started in the year 2068 after the establishment of Gold Cup Trust in the name of Virat Gold Cup.
