Controversy flared up in Hanepa after participating in the government

HANEPA had decided to participate in the Wagmati state government only if it gets a chief minister, otherwise it would remain in the opposition. However, the controversy came to the surface when the leader of HANEPA, Bajracharya, participated in the government against the party's decision and became a minister.

The government led by Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel got the majority again with the participation of Hanepa, who was in the decisive vote in the House. . On Tuesday only, this party said that it has withdrawn its support to the current government. Because of this, the current Maoist central government was in the minority. With the formation of the UML-led power coalition, the Jamkattel-led government in Wagmati needed 1 vote for a majority. Hanepa has two MPs.

On Friday, Hanepa president Anantaraj Ghimire gave a press conference in Hetounda and warned his MPs of action. "The UML and Maoists have politically kidnapped our MP and made him a minister." We have not supported this government. Our MP is not in touch with us,' he said. Ghimire says that his party will not give a vote of confidence to the government. Chief Minister Jamkattel is preparing to take the vote of confidence soon.

Ghimire said that one of the two MPs from his party is in regular contact and Bajracharya is the only one who remains out of touch. "According to the decision made by the central committee of our party on 3rd and 3rd of Chait, we will not participate in the government." MPs are not above the decision of the party, he said. He says that MP Bajracharya is taking legal advice for action.

On February 23, after the Congress recalled its 6 ministers and withdrew its support to the government, Jamkattel is forced to take a vote of confidence. 56 MPs are required to form a government in Wagmati. In the state assembly, UML, which is part of the new alliance, has 55 votes, 27 of which are Maoist Center 21 and 7 of United Socialist Party. 1 vote is required to sustain the government. Because of this, the government needs the support of Hanepa. There are 37 MPs from Congress, 13 MPs from RPP and 3 MPs from Nemkipa in the state assembly. RPP and Nemkipa have already made it clear that they will not participate in the government.
