Women, Children and Senior Citizens Minister Bhagwati Chaudhary has said that the National Child Rights Council needs to be reformed. Minister Chaudhary presided over the National Child Rights Council meeting on Saturday and gave instructions to subordinate agencies and responsible officials for structural reforms.

Minister Choudhary's directive to improve the structure of the Child Rights Council

Since the National Child Rights Council is a specialized agency of the government that works in the field of child rights, Minister Choudhary instructed the council to work in a manner that focuses on child rights in its governance reforms, policies, plans and programs that will affect society.

Minister Chowdhury's secretariat has informed that in the council meeting, whatever problems have been observed regarding children's homes and children's reform homes, they have been investigated and options for strengthening the institutions have been discussed.

The meeting has also changed the responsibilities of the council officers . It is said that it has been decided that the responsibility of coordination and other work will be done by the vice president of the council and the responsibility of administrative and financial work will be done by the member secretary.

Minister Chowdhury said that some questions have been raised about the member secretary and said that the question has been raised when he went beyond the authority given in the regulations. He said that the people sitting in every agency of the state should follow the laws literally.

Minister Chowdhury pointed out the need to move forward in a systematic manner by giving instructions to move forward to work in a planned manner so as to free street children and have a strong presence of the government in the field of child rights. Children should not be seen on the streets anymore. The council should work so that children are not found on the streets in the coming days,' she said, 'Let us work on this matter.' If you find children on the street, we have orphanages, children's organizations. Therefore, our commitment should also be in the matter of new modifications . Now children should not be found on the streets.

Minister Choudhary also instructed the council officials to create a charter covering the issues related to children, laws, service facilities, court judgments, etc.

Secretary of the Ministry Dinesh Bhattarai said that the Ministry will take necessary policy decisions to answer the questions raised about the Children's Home and Temporary Protection Service Center.

Council member secretary Idradevi Dhakal admitted that there was a weakness in the agreement with NRNA. Responding to the questions raised on her, Dhakal said, "Regarding the agreement of NRNA, when Uma Regmi was a minister, she came to visit the women's group of NRNA when the budget for rescuing street children was not enough. On the initiative of the minister, the process of the agreement has moved forward. It has been agreed that the amount will go directly to Yousef at the rate of 5,000 rupees per month for one child. The money of 50 children has gone there without the budget coming here, and the money has gone there, directly by the staff. If that's wrong, I'm ready to bring it back .'
