CPN-UML has decided to make Suhang Nemwang a candidate in the by-election for the member of the House of Representatives of Ilam-2.
The secretariat meeting held at the party headquarters Chasal on Sunday decided to make Nemwang a candidate. After the death of UML Vice President and Constituent Assembly Speaker Suvashchandra Nemwang on August 26, the constituency became vacant.
Bye-election is going to be held in that area on 15th Baisakh. UML has decided to nominate Suhang, the youngest son of the late Nemwang, as a candidate. Suhang, who is working as a legal practitioner, has already started his activities for the election.
The meeting has also decided to make Daman Bahadur Bhandari a candidate in the by-election of Bajhang Province-1. Deputy General Secretary of the party Pradeep Gyawali said that the meeting appealed to the entire party line to unite and support other parties in the campaign to make the party's candidate win in both the by-elections.
'This meeting has decided to make Suhang Nemwang a candidate on behalf of the party in Ilam-2 in the by-election to be held on 15th Baisakh. And, in the same way, Daman Bahadur Bhandari from the State Assembly 1 of Bajhang, who is also the district president of our party,' he said, 'I have decided to make him a candidate.'
