Due to the changes in the power coalition, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has taken the vote of confidence from the House of Representatives for the third time in 15 months.
Out of 268 MPs present in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, 157 people voted in favor of Dahal. 110 people voted against it. There was one person who said not to vote.
Congress, Janmaat, LOSPA, Rashtriya Janamorcha stood against Prime Minister Dahal .
Prime Minister Dahal, while addressing the vote of confidence, asked him to fully believe after giving the vote of confidence.
After the House of Representatives elections in November 2079, the government was formed under the leadership of Dahal on January 10, 2079. Dahal took the vote of confidence from the House of Representatives for the first time on December 26, 2079, leading the government involving parties such as UML, RASWP, RPRPA, and JSPA.
Even the Congress sitting on the opposition bench at that time gave a vote of confidence to Dahal . When the proposal for the vote of confidence was presented for decision, 268 of the 270 MPs present in the House of Representatives meeting voted in favor of Dahal. Only Chitra Bahadur KC of Rashtriya Janamorcha and Prem Suwal of Nemkipa voted against him.
With the presidential election, Dahal broke the alliance with the UML in the second week of February 2079 and started the power journey with the Congress. As a result, Sheetal Niwas Yatra of Ramchandra Poudel, who became the presidential candidate from the Congress, began.
After the alliance with UML was broken, Dahal took a vote of confidence from the House of Representatives for the second time on Chait 6, 2079. During the vote of confidence for the second time, Congress, Maoist Center, Jaspa, United Socialist Party, Janmaat Party, Democratic Socialist Party, Civil Liberation Party, Rashtriya Janamorcha and independent parliamentarians including Prabhu Shah and Amresh Kumar Singh stood in favor of Dahal.
When the vote of confidence was taken for the second time, 172 MPs voted in favor of Prime Minister Dahal out of 262 MPs present in the House. 89 MPs were against Dahal, while Nemkipa was in favor of "no vote".
