The Tribhuvan University Executive Council formed a high-level committee on Thursday to investigate the issue of missing answer sheets from the Examination Control Office.

High Level Inquiry Committee on Loss of Answer Sheet

The Information and Public Relations Division of the University has informed that a three-member committee has been formed under the coordination of former registrar Chandramani Paudel. In the statement issued by the division, it is mentioned that the committee will conduct a detailed investigation into how the answer sheet was lost and submit a report within 30 days. It is said that after receiving the

report, the Executive Council will take the necessary decision regarding the missing answer book. The Executive Council is the Executive Committee of the University with the Vice-Chancellor as the President and the Rector and the Registrar.

The answer sheets of population and health subjects (code no. 422) and basic subjects of education (code no. 412) for the faculty of pedagogy were lost under the first year undergraduate level humanities and sociology faculty taken last May. When the answer sheet was not found when the results were announced, the examination committee formed a separate investigation committee. Although the committee has already submitted its report, the executive council has formed a high-level investigation committee again.

The university has also announced that the examination of the students who have lost their answer sheets will be conducted on Chait 21. The Examination Control Office has given instructions to the campuses for that. Based on the instructions, Chitwan's Birendra Multipurpose Campus, Shaheed Smriti Multipurpose Campus and Dang's Deukhuri Multipurpose Campus have issued notices that the examination will be conducted again.

It is mentioned in the notice issued by the heads of those campuses that the examination will be conducted on Chait 21st from 7 am to 10 am. After more than 200 answer sheets of those subjects have been tested, it is estimated that the marks may have been lost before being entered in the ledger. Last year too, BBS 4th year under faculty of management conducted re-examination after the answer book of one subject was lost.

After the loss of the answer book, Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh and Aneraswawiu have issued a statement and demanded action against the culprits. Following the demand of the student body, the executive council formed the inquiry committee. The Navy Association also demonstrated in front of the Vice-Chancellor's office on Thursday. According to the Union of Universities, students have been harassed by errors in the preparation of question papers, question papers not related to the syllabus, many previous year's question papers, exchange of answer sheets, delay in publication of results and certificates. A warning has been given that if such actions are not stopped, they will start a protest. Aneraswaviyu has also taken action against the culprits and has drawn attention to prevent such incidents from happening again.
