After the required number of applications were not received even by the last time of issuing the public notice regarding the requirement of school nurses, the Wagmati Province Health Directorate has extended the time for applications by one week. The provincial health directorate issued a public notice on February 24 regarding the need for 457 nurses. The deadline was extended by one week after only about 400 applications were received till late Monday.

Due to the low number of applications for school nurses, the deadline was extended by one week

The Directorate of Health had issued a public notice for the recruitment of school nurses under contract on February 24, so that applications can be received by March 14. Director of Health Directorate Deepak Tiwari said that since the required number of applications were not received, the time has been extended so that applications can be submitted till 20th of Chait. "Since the results of the Nursing Council have been released recently, we have also extended the deadline so that those who have passed there can also apply." Since the nursing service in the school is effective, the advertisement has been opened for the appointment of a school nurse on contract through the health directorate under the ministry.

Nursing services have reached more than 500 secondary schools in Wagmati Province under the 'One School One Nurse' program that has been running for the past five years. A nurse has been placed in the school to promote health, hygiene and nutrition by encouraging children to adopt balanced and nutritious food as well as health awareness right from the school level.

Nursing services are available in 519 secondary schools of Wagmati province. According to the Ministry of Health of the province, all 119 municipalities in 13 districts of Wagmati province have been covered by the school nurse program. According to the ministry, nurses have been appointed and deployed in contract service in secondary schools from urban areas to rural areas.

After recruiting 457 school nurses and assigning them to secondary schools this year, Director of Health Tiwari said that 100% nurses will be in secondary schools where 12th grade is taught in 13 districts of the province. The Ministry of Social Development of Wagmati State Government conducted the 'One School One Nurse' program in 20 public schools of 13 districts as a model of AW 074/75 with the aim of providing health services to students and teachers of public schools. Since the program is effective, the provincial government has been continuing the program.

Keeping in mind the improvement of sexual and reproductive health of adolescents, the then provincial government launched the 'One School, One Nurse' program from 2075. The school nurses who were selected and sent on contract by the state government have left their jobs and gone elsewhere. 112 school nurses appointed by the health directorate have quit their jobs. The directorate said that 457 nurses have been requested to fill the said position. Out of 119 local levels of the province, 112 schools in 71 municipalities are without nurses. Director Tiwari said, "Due to the decrease in the production of nurses and the increase in going abroad for the past few years, it is difficult to get nurses," said Director Tiwari.

The state government aims to expand this program to all secondary schools in the state. There are 1,350 community secondary schools in Wagmati province. Since there is not even one nurse in a school with hundreds of students and teachers, the school family is facing various health problems, so the Ministry of Social Development of the Wagmati Province Government conducted the 'One School One Nurse' program as a pilot project 5 years ago. Since the program is effective, the said program has been expanded. Badri Bahadur Khadka, the secretary of the Ministry of Health, said that the program was conducted by realizing the pain of students spending more time at school than at home, but not being able to immediately treat health problems during school hours. School families who have a

nurse get immediate health care, and the cleanliness of the school has improved. The nurses working in the school are working in the school from 10 am to 4 pm. The state government started this service in public schools 5 years ago. After the arrangement of nurses in community schools, institutional schools have also started arranging nurses.
