20 candidates in Ilam-2

Candidates of 12 political parties including Congress, UML, Rashtriya Swatantra Party, United Samajwadi have registered their nominations here. Dumbar Khadka of Congress, Suhang Nemwang of UML, Milan Limbu of RSWP, Jit Bahadur Rai of S and others have registered their candidature. UML candidate Suhang is the son of Constituent Assembly former chairman Nemwang. CPN led by Maoists and Netra Vikram Chand said they will support Nemwang.

The ruling party RSVP and S are going to contest the election alone. In the 2079 election, Nemwang defeated Khadka of the Congress, the candidate of the Congress, Maoist and SCO coalition, by a narrow margin of 114 votes. Nemwang got 30 thousand 20 votes and Khadka got 29 thousand 906 votes. Prakash Sapkota from RSVP got 1,380 votes. On the proportional side, the RSVP got 4,686 votes.

According to the Office of the Chief Election Officer, Prem Kumar Thamsuhang from the Janmat Party, Shyam Bahadur Darzi from the Nepal Labor Kisan Party, and Mani Bahadur Limbu from the Mongol National Organization have also registered their nominations. Similarly, Lakshmi Gurung from RPP, Ganesh Bahadur Chauhan from RPP Nepal, Jaywantvikram Shah from Rashtriya Mukti Andolan Dal, Resham Bahadur Sunar from Nepali Janata Dal, Dhanraj Ranamar from National Republican Party have been registered.

Identity leader Dakendrasingh Limbu, Dak Prasad Gautam, Arjun Kumar Shahi, Keshav Kumar Chapagain, Dipesh Bohra, Manoj Niraula, Yogendra Gurung and Raj Basyal have registered independent candidatures, Chief Election Officer Keshav Prasad Ghimire said. According to him, he is scheduled to file a complaint against the candidate by 3 o'clock on Sunday. According to the Election Commission, there are 79 polling stations and 149 polling stations for the by-elections. There are about 115 thousand 889 voters in Ilam-2.

Bajhang 1 (1) has received nominations from 12 parties for the state assembly member by-election. Bye-elections are about to be held here after Prithvi Bahadur Singh, Minister of Home Affairs and member of the Provincial Assembly of Sudurpaschim Province, passed away in a road accident. Singh's son Abhishek Bahadur Singh has filed his candidacy on behalf of the Congress. The ruling coalition parties have also registered separate nominations for the by-elections. Daman Bhandari is the candidate from UML, the largest party in the alliance. Janak Budha of Maoist, another party of the

alliance, has also submitted his candidacy. The Maoists had been demanding that the UML should support their candidate in Bajhang because the Maoists had supported the UML candidate in Elam. But UML has also nominated. The office of the Chief Electoral Officer has informed that the candidacy of Dil Bahadur Singh from S, another component of the ruling coalition, and Kishore Khadka from RPP have been registered.

All these parties reached the Chief Electoral Officer's office along with Bajagaza and Julus during the nomination registration. Prakash Singh, information officer of the Chief Election Officer's office, said that Vinod Thapa from Rashtriya Matrubhumi Party, Ashok Sunar from Janata Dal, Khagendra Shahi from Nemkipa and Kamal Ghartimar from National Republic have filed their nominations. Similarly, Singh informed that Ram Bahadur Jagri from Janata Samajwadi Party, Deepak Bahadur Khadka from Federal Democratic National Forum and Sushila Devi Bista from Janamat Party have nominated.
