Veteran filmmaker Martin Scorsese has been honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Berlin Film Festival. Martin was honored with the festival's Golden Wear Honor Award.
The festival organizer mentioned Martin's film 'Killers of Flower Moon' as his latest big achievement. Martin's film has also been nominated for an Oscar. "For those who see film as an art that shapes the story, Martin is an unparalleled example," festival presidents Marriott and Carlo said while giving the award to Martin.
Martin, who established himself as a filmmaker of the New Hollywood era with 'Taxi Driver', won an Oscar in 2007 with 'The Departed'. After being nominated 7 times for Oscar, 'The Departed' won him the award .
