The second Jiri festival has started from Friday in Jiri, a tourist town of Dolakha.
The festival was started with the aim of promoting economic activities and promoting the tourism sector and local products. The festival, which will last until Baisakh 2, will have agricultural and domestic handicrafts exhibition, industrial and commercial exhibition, ethnic cultural glimpses, children's garden, tableau and rally, folk dance competition, food festival, presentation of local and national artists, educational material and science exhibition as well as promotion of tourism sector. Organizer Jiri Industry and Commerce Association President Baburaja Shrestha said.
Shrestha said that the festival has more than 50 stalls for promotion and marketing of local products and there will also be programs such as interaction to explore and promote the potential of Jiri internal tourism. He said that the promotion program of Jiri's historical and religious places will also be conducted from the festival. According to him, in order to return the tourism of Jiri to its old rhythm, there will also be a program to promote the identification of the footpath and identify it as the entrance to Mount Everest. The
festival was inaugurated by Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Damodar Bhandari on Friday.
Before the inauguration of the festival, a rally was taken out from Jiri's Hatdanda to Lincoln Bazar with a tableau of castes.
