12-year-old Hemanti Choulagai, who was burnt and injured in the fire that broke out in Navadurga Community Forest in Khadachakra Municipality-5, Dhadgaon, has died. He was cremated at Girighat river in Surkhet on Monday.

On Friday, the girl, who had gone to graze goats with her father in the forest below the house, was injured in the fire along with her father, Nandaram Choulagai. Relative Ravindra Choulagai said that the injured girl was taken to Surkhet by helicopter on Saturday evening from Jumla via Manm, but she died on Sunday evening during treatment.

The body of the girl was cremated at Girighat on Monday afternoon after post-mortem at Karnali Pradesh Hospital Surkhet. 'My sister has passed away,' close relative Ravindra Chailagai said, 'the younger father's condition is improving.' The injured Nandaram is being treated. When they went to graze goats in the forest, both the father and son were burnt and injured by a sudden fire from below.

Their 45 goats that were taken to graze in the forest have all died, while 6 2-day-old goats in the house have also died without being able to eat milk, said neighbor Hiramani Choulagai. A rescue operation has been conducted.

From Saturday to Monday, 1 lakh 70 thousand 140 rupees cash has been collected from Facebook and Manm Bazaar.
