Mohana Ansari's article titled 'The Real Meaning of Secularism' published in Kantipur Daily on Friday should have delved into the root of the word secularism and its nature.

Firstly, religion is not different, but sects are different. Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, etc., are not religions but forms of sects. Now people are promoting communal pomp in the name of religion. The real meaning of the word dharma is to uphold the truth. What is the truth? Indestructible and unchangeable thing is the truth? How can that object be held without recognizing what it is? Therefore, religion is the art of recognizing the truth and living according to it. According to this rule, when the society became secular in different periods, great men were born who guided the path of truth, but the society established a sect in his name and filled it with a religious logo and the religion was named after him.

The word absolute means no expectations and secular means no expectations of religion. If we go to the original meaning and essence of the word,
secular constitution means a constitution that does not expect religion. A constitution is the basic law of a state and is designed to establish the rule of law. The main mistake of the Constituent Assembly is not to understand that the main goal of the constitution is to establish religion. The constitution is the same for everyone within the borders of the state. Nowhere has it been explained that Hindus are like this and others like that when there is a guilty agreement of the same nature. In the explanation of the constitution, it is an attempt to create a wrong interpretation to say that the word "secular" should mean religious and cultural freedom, including the protection of religious culture that has existed since time immemorial. From this, the constitution automatically assumes religious relativism.
