India's newly appointed Union Minister S. Jaishankar has paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is on a visit to neighboring friendly country India.
The meeting was held on Monday at Hotel Taj, where Prime Minister Dahal is staying. In the meeting, bilateral relations, mutual cooperation and the implementation of past agreements and understandings were discussed.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Dahal congratulated Jaishankar for being appointed as the Minister of India and wished him a long term. He expressed his belief that the mutual and people-to-people relations between the two countries will become stronger in the coming days.
Similarly, Minister Jaishankar thanked Prime Minister Dahal and the Government of Nepal for participating in the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the Government of India is serious about the implementation of agreements and understandings between the two countries and satisfactory progress is being made.
The Prime Minister's daughter-in-law Ganga Dahal, Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Padam Giri, Foreign Secretary Seva Lamsal and other high-ranking officials of the Nepali Embassy in India participated in the meeting.
