Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Shakti Bahadur Basnet has said that solar energy should be used as four times less energy is produced in the dry season than in the rainy season in Nepal and consumption is always in the same proportion.
Minister Basnet said this while submitting a proposal to initiate a general discussion on the agreement related to the establishment of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday.
He said that the nature of energy consumption in Nepal is the same in the dry season and the rainy season, but the production is four times less in the dry season. There is a need to do more work in the field of energy. For that, we will have to work on it from the international level,' he said, 'The nature and trend of our energy consumption is the same throughout the twelve months . The nature of the product is unique. There is a gap between the rainy season and the dry season. There is a difference of four times . The effect and result of which is more during the rainy season . There is a situation to import during the dry season.'
He informed that 118 countries have signed agreements in the International Solar Alliance and 97 countries have ratified them.
