Agriculture, Trade, Tourism Festival in Jumla

Member of the House of Representatives, Binita Kathayat, while inaugurating the festival, expressed her belief that it will help in the protection of agriculture, tourism and cultural heritage of Karnali. The festival has been organized to sustain the economic situation of Jumla and preserve art and culture.

Organized by National Folk Song Foundation Jumla and with the support of AK Event Multi-Purpose Pvt Ltd Surkhet, the festival which will be held till 23rd of Baisakh aims to showcase the Karnali region's agriculture, herbs, tourism, energy, culture and cultural goods, and to introduce the beauty of Karnali through art and culture.

Throughout the festival period, fruit stalls of apples, walnuts, marsi paddy, marsi rice, chino, kaguno, phapar, and beans are kept. In some stalls, there are stalls of traditional Radipakhi, rabbit hats, as well as cooking and tasting Raithane crops.

The organizers have stated that the festival will also help in the marketing of agricultural products, which are unable to get a price even though there is a high demand in the market. Karna Bahadur Budthapa, president of the National Folk Song Institute Jumla, said that the festival will feature performances by local and national famous artists. President Budthapa said that the festival will be conducted to promote agriculture, tourism and identify the talents of local artists. Various 50/60 stalls have been booked in the festival and there are 80/90 stalls.

Folk, art and culture preservation, transformation, prosperity is our mission, agricultural culture and culture is our identity, promotion of agricultural tourism and local products is our mission. Bishwaraj Khatri, Secretary of Folk and Dual Song Foundation, said that Deuda, Dohori, Single dance competition will be held at the

festival. According to the foundation, local artists will also be given priority. Dhurmus Suntali, Elina Chauhan, Tika Sanu and more than two dozen famous national artists will perform at the festival.
