One person died in a fire in Lamhi Municipality-9 Tarulia on Thursday evening. The deceased is 87-year-old Bir Bahadur Bote of Lamhi-9 Tarulia.

Police Inspector Lal Bahadur Shrestha of Amilia Police Office said that one of his houses and one of Hukum Bahadur Bote were destroyed by the fire that started from Bote's shed. Shrestha informed that while trying to remove the belongings inside the house, Bote died due to burns.

The fire was brought under control by the fire brigade, police, armed police and locals of Lamhi Municipality and Garhwa Rural Municipality, he said.
