Former Chief Minister and CPN United Socialist leader Rajendra Kumar Rai has said that even though the government is really in the minority, the Chief Minister can leave the post only after it is settled. He claimed that the government cannot be Ajambari under Article 168, Sub-section 5 of the Constitution.
'In the past, when Bhim Acharya of UML was the Chief Minister, it was run for 68 days when he was in minority', Rai questioned and said, 'and Kedar Karki should pave the way?' Saying that only Parliament can decide that the government is in minority, Rai said that the party cannot return the support given by the individual.
Kedar Karki was personally supported, so Rai insisted that the support should be returned personally. Stating that the vote of confidence should be taken after the government's support is withdrawn, Rai claimed that the government in the minority cannot be run . Asserting that he will not go to the mid-term if he does not get a vote of confidence, he asked Chief Minister Karki to try to get a majority within 30 days and to pave the way if he does not get a vote of confidence.
Although the Janata Samajwadi Party supported the resolution tabled by the UML-Maoist to remove Chief Minister Karki, the central ruling party, the United Socialist Party, expressed its disagreement with some points of the resolution and indicated that it would stay neutral.
