Sarita Thulung of Koshi region won the gold medal in weightlifting under para and special sports. On Monday, Sarita lifted 65 kg over the women's 67 kg. Sangeeta Limbu of Wagmati lifted 41 kg and Bhavna KC of Gandaki won silver and gold respectively by lifting 40 kg.
Anukla Rai of Koshi won the women's under 67 kg category of the competition organized by the National Sports Council (Rakhep) and managed by the National Para Weightlifting Sports Association of Nepal. Anu lifted 42 kg. Koshi's Jakan Van was second and Gandaki's Sharmila Vishwakarma was third. Yajman lifted 40 kg and Sharmila lifted 36 kg.
Huma Magar of Lumbini won the gold in the competition held at the international sports complex in Satdobato, who lifted 34 kg under 50 kg. Roshni Thapa from Sudurpaschim who lifted 25 kg became second.
President of the National Weightlifting Sports Association of Nepal Tek Bahadur Gurung said that 42 athletes participated in 7 events, 4 for men and 3 for women. The final day will be on Tuesday in the men's 4 event finals.
