After the spinners bowled well, Nepal got a target of 116 runs to win the match against South Africa in Twenty20 World Cup cricket. After Nepal's captain Rohit Poudel won the toss at Arnos Vale ground in St. Vincent on Friday, South Africa came into bat and could only make a score of 115-7 in the scheduled 20 overs.
After the brilliant performance of Kushal Bhurtel and Dipendrasingh Airi, Nepal bowled brilliantly. After stopping South Africa at 38-1 in the first 6 overs of the power play, Nepal bowled more economically. Nepal got the first success in the fourth over. Quinton de Kock, who was out of form, was cut and bowled by Dipendra Singh Airy. De Kock played 11 balls and hit 1 four and scored only 10 runs. Captain Aden Akram also hit 2 fours in 22 balls and scored only 15 runs. He was bowled by Kushal Bhurtel.
Bhurtel took another big wicket after dismissing Henrik Klaassen. Karan KC took a catch in the third attempt on a deep hit by Klassen. When David Miller was only 1 run away, David Miller was beaten by Bhurtel's ball. After the ball hit his pad, Nepal took a review . But Miller couldn't last long . He was dismissed by Dipendra for 7 runs. Tristan Stubbs hit 2 fours and 1 six off 18 balls and remained unbeaten on 27 runs. Dipendra spent 21 runs in 4 overs and took 3 wickets. Bhurtel, who also bowled the last over, took 4 wickets by spending 19 runs in 4 overs. This is also Bhurtel's best bowling in Twenty20. He conceded only 10 runs in his first 3 overs.
Nepal was defeated by 6 wickets in the first match against the Netherlands in Dallas. The match against Sri Lanka in Florida was canceled by rain. South Africa has reached the Super 'Eight' after winning the first 3 matches. Despite that, South Africa fielded a full team against Nepal.
In the Nepali team, spinner Sandeep Lamichha was placed in Nepal's playing 11 instead of Sagar Dhakal as the only change. South Africa has replaced Keshab Maharaj with another spinner Tabriz Samsi in the playing 11 .
