Freedom 'A' and Jorpati 3rd Ward President's Cup Veteran football tournament reached the quarterfinals on Friday.
Freedom 'A' defeated Sindhu Vetran by 5-2 goals on the hat-trick of Vikarn Shrestha at Chawhil Sports Ground. Sindhu's Shambhu Shrestha and Rom Pradhan scored 1-1. Jorpati defeated Takami Vetran by 3-0 goals. Jorpati's Ranjit Lama, Rakesh Lama and Indra Lama scored 1 each.
In the competition organized by Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward 7, Saraswatinagar Vetran and Sano Gaucharan Night King Club have reached the pre-quarterfinals.
Saraswatinagar beat John Ten-Ten 9-1. Sundar Nepal of Saraswatinagar scored 5 goals and Shashi Rimal, Sunil Subedi, Sudeep KC and Yuvraj Bhujel scored 1 each. Raj Thapa of John scored one goal. Sano Goucharan beat Sajan Smriti Youth Club Chavhil 3-1 in a tiebreaker. After the match was tied 2-2 after the scheduled time, the decision was made directly from the penalty shootout.
