Chitwan police have arrested four teenagers on the charge of cutting banana plants. Among those arrested, two are 14 years old, one is 13 years old and one is 12 years old.
Because they are minors, the police did not reveal their other identities. DSP Bhesraj Rizal, the spokesperson of Chitwan District Police Office, said that they were caught from Khairhani Municipality-8 on the morning of May 10.
Chitwan Police alleges that they cut and destroyed 315 banana plants planted in Khairhani-3 at midnight on 1st June. DSP Rizal said that the Chitwan District Court has extended the deadline for investigation in order to prosecute a criminal nuisance case against them. In Chitwan, there have been incidents of cutting and destroying banana plants before.
