The Diyalo Bungalow Palace of Chitwan Narayangadh, where King Mahendra died, is going to be opened for public viewing as a museum. On Friday, a 6-point agreement was signed between the Trust and the Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality to open and operate the palace owned by the Nepal Trust until June 82. Bharatpur Metropolitan Corporation has planned to open Dialo Bungalow within Baisakh.

Agreement to open Dialo Bangla Darbar

"With the aim of making this place a new tourist destination, we have succeeded in reaching an agreement within three months of advancing the process to open it to the public. It is to be inaugurated on Baisakh 1. But the work of its reconstruction, repair and painting is left," said Renu Dahal, mayor of Bharatpur. She said that the Dialo bungalow area will be opened to the public on the 15th of Baisakh after this work is completed.

King Mahendra passed away on January 17, 2028 in Diyalo Bangla Darbar. Jhalakram Adhikari, member secretary of Nepal Trust, said that Raja Mahendra started construction in 2018 and built it in 26 years. He informed that the materials used by King Mahendra are there.

'King Mahendra has a bedroom. On its pillow are two weapons used by King Mahendra. There are old beds, couches and carpets. There is also a smoking zone. There is also a bar,' said Jhalakram Adhikari, member secretary of Nepal Trust. The lands and palaces in the name of King Virendra were brought under the name of Nepal Trust after the people's movement of 62/63. He said that King Mahendra's room was specially protected.

After the death of King Mahendra, King Birendra also seems to have added a room. It seems that King Mahendra did not use it but Birendra built another room and used it. Even after Gyanendra became king, it is seen that the dining table was made. Here you can see how the life style of the Raj family was," said the member secretary officer. He said that even though the king sits in one room on the iron plank, other members of the royal family may live together. The officer said that the

items are not luxurious and the lifestyle is also reflected in the same. But what is interesting is that the palace was designed in 18 years. Engineering seems to be relevant even now. Organized and good. At that time, tiles were used. Made with attention to sustainability. It is artistic and good engineering,” said the member secretary officer. The metropolis will operate the museum under the rule of procedure. Mayor Dahal said that

procedures have been prepared. The repair work will be done from tomorrow. It is not such a big job. It is intended to preserve the contents inside as a museum and to renovate the dilapidated front bardli. "There is no big work left," Mayor Dahal said. Mahaner is going to use the income raised in the museum with a plan to share it. Dahal said that the entrance fee is normal.

Four kilometers from the Narayangadh market, there is a Durbar area under the cover of the Narayangadh Muglin road and the road leading to Devghat. There is also Narayani river in the north near the palace inside the forest. Mayor Dahal said that the Durbar area is a suitable place for those who want to understand and study history. She said that although the palace was opened with reference to Bharatpur visit year, it will be operated continuously in the coming years as well.
