5 arrested for cheating by showing fake gold idol

Police have arrested 5 people from different places of Kathmandu on the charge of fraud of 3 million rupees by showing fake gold idols.
Among those arrested are Artist Das, a resident of Odisha State, India, Kendrawada of Kathmandu Kamalpokhari, Kshetra Bahadur Shahi of Myagdi Raghuganga Rural Municipality-7, a resident of Lalitpur Dhowighat, Deepak Thapa of Dhading Nilakantha Municipality-2, a resident of Dallu, Kathmandu, Basant Chaudhary of Dang, a resident of Lajimpat and Kathmandu Metropolitan Municipality-15. Ravin Maharjan lives in Chowmati.
Kageshwari Manohara Municipality-7 A joint team deployed from District Police Complex Kathmandu and Police Division Kandaghari arrested them based on the information that a slave had cheated a man of money by showing him a fake gold idol.
The police also seized 1 fake gold Buddha statue and 1.4 million rupees in cash from them. The police said that further investigation is being done in this regard.
