Currently, 5,890 Nepali soldiers, including 662 women, are working in 12 different missions around the world. Shah also mentioned that Nepal has promised to provide 10,000 peacekeepers if requested by the United Nations.

Since Nepal became a member of the United Nations in 1955, it has been an active participant in most of the peace operations of the United Nations. Since then, more than 150,891 Nepalese troops have participated in 44 missions of the United Nations.
