Two children died after drowning in a pond in Siraha. Two children of Naraha Rural Municipality-3 Khoria have drowned. Among the deceased are 7-year-old Rahul Mandal of local Shusheel Mandal and 8-year-old Ashish Mandal, Shusheel's nephew. They were missing since 12 noon on Monday.
Then locals and police started searching for them . During the search, they were found dead floating in a pond near the settlement at 8:30 am on Tuesday morning.
DSP Panchkumar Bakhu of the area police office Mirchaiya said that the body was sent to the provincial hospital in Siraha for post-mortem.
According to locals, this pool contractors Gravel was dug and left stranded. Due to indiscriminate gravel mining in this area, children die every year by drowning in ponds formed everywhere .
With the onset of the rainy season, the water level in the pits and ponds has increased and the police have asked to keep a special watch on the children saying that there is a risk of human accidents.
