The Ministry of Youth and Sports has given priority to cricket infrastructure in the budget proposal sent to the Ministry of Finance for the financial year 2081/82.
Moolpani Cricket Ground under the National Pride Project, Chitwan and Biratnagar stadiums are under construction. The Ministry of Youth and Sports has also included the floodlights and maintenance of the Trivi Cricket Ground in Kirtipur in the budget.
Physical infrastructures that have been DPR and are in the process of completion have been given priority. Similarly, it is suggested to include all the programs and infrastructure construction in the policy and program in the budget.
The 10th National Games to be held in Karnali has also been given special priority. Also, based on the possibility that the 11th National Games will be held in Madhesh province, a budget allocation has been demanded to build infrastructure for Madhesh as well.
Players insurance, junior competitions, academy and high altitude training center have been prioritized in the budget.
It is said that the infrastructure of iconic provinces will be covered by new or maintenance according to the needs of the seven provinces. According to the ministry, a total of 65 sports infrastructures and programs have been put in place. It includes many games based on priority.
Apart from cricket and football, the national sport volleyball has also been given a special place. Para sports and especially para taekwondo have been given importance. Golf, boxing, karate, taekwondo, adventure sports, swimming, basketball, kabaddi and many other sports have also been proposed to be included in the budget.
There is a demand that a special program called 'Sports Decade' should be included in the budget. Besides, it has been demanded that the regular and necessary programs of the last year should be continued.
According to the budget proposal sent by the National Sports Council, the ministry has removed the competitions that do not have DPR as per the rules and are being held in the name of the leaders of different parties.
Along with this, the ministry said that the program of 110 million requested from Rakhep for the recently started rugby stadium in Nepal has been removed.
