Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the capacity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Nepali diplomatic missions abroad should be enhanced to protect the welfare of Nepalis abroad.
In the discussion regarding the presentation of the organization and management survey of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its agencies held at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, Prime Minister Dahal said that it is necessary to strengthen the Nepali missions abroad. In the
meeting, Prime Minister Dahal said that the welfare and rights of the Nepalis in the diaspora were his top priority and the main issue was the enhancement of institutional and structural capacity.
Prime Minister Dahal said, 'The number of Nepalis going abroad is increasing. However, our Ministry of Foreign Affairs, subordinate offices and missions have not been strengthened as required. The post is very full. Let's change it and strengthen the organization and manpower management. Let's work with the welfare and rights of Nepalis living abroad as the center. Make technical preparations at secretary level. Then we will come to a conclusion soon.' In the
meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha said on Wednesday that the question of nationality is expressed in diplomacy, and Nepal should reform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the agencies under it.
