Chairman of Janamat Party and Member of the House of Representatives Sike Raut has said that directly elected executive should be arranged for political stability. At the first session of the Madhes-Kaski Contact Society in Pokhara, he said that although it was stipulated in the constitution that it was oriented towards socialism, stability could not be maintained due to the political system.
''The country does not seem to get political stability from the current constitutional system. For a permanent government, there should be a system of directly elected leadership up to the Prime Minister, the Chief Ministers of all seven provinces and the courts, then it can be developed in such a way as to bring about stability and change,' he said.
President Raut said that due to the political instability, foreign investment has not entered Nepal and that Nepal does not have the resources to develop large projects without foreign investment. He held the view that his party talked about social democracy as a new republic with the conclusion that the country cannot be saved from the socialist system alone. In the
program, Tejkumari Paudel, a central member of the Communist Party of Nepal Maoist Center, claimed that the system established by the Maoist movement has reduced caste and gender discrimination and said that now the party has moved forward to give equal rights to every Nepali.
