A committee meeting is being held to finalize the terms of reference for setting up a parliamentary inquiry committee on misappropriation of cooperative funds. Although the meeting was supposed to be held at the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs at Singhdarbar, it has started from 9 am.
It is said that today's meeting will decide the agenda. A discussion was also held on Thursday but it was inconclusive as no consensus could be reached. On Thursday, the ruling party prepared a draft mentioning the name of the cooperative.
Nepali Congress has been demanding that Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane's name should be removed. The ruling party and the main opposition party have not been able to reach an agreement on whether to list the name of Deputy Prime Minister Lamichhane or not.
