A male rhinoceros has been found dead in Chitwan National Park. A 12-year-old male rhinoceros was found dead on the banks of the Rapti River in the Belsahar Intermediate Community Forest area of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-13 on Saturday.
According to conservation officer Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, who is the information officer of the park, the rhinoceros died due to an encounter with each other.
The rhinoceros was stuck in an awkward place. Along with this, conservation officer Tiwari informed that 13 rhinos have died in the current financial year in the park and its intermediate area.
Rhinos are rare wild animals. In the last census three years ago, there were 752 rhinos in the country, and the highest number of 694 rhinos was found in Chitwan National Park.
