Madhesh Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav has received the vote of confidence for the fourth time. Chief Minister Yadav won the vote of confidence in the state assembly on Tuesday amid the boycott of Congress, Janmaat and LOSPA.

Fourth vote of confidence to the Chief Minister of Madhesh

61 votes were cast in favor of the Chief Minister from the JSP, UML, Maoists and United Socialists of the ruling coalition. Apart from UML Speaker, there are 24 MPs in the Provincial Assembly, 19 from Jaspa, 9 from Maoists and 7 from CPN-S. Chief Minister Yadav has also been voted by Civil Immunity and Federal Socialists who have 1-1 MPs. The support of 54 MPs was required for the government in the 107-member state assembly. There are 22 members of Congress, 13 members of Janmat, 9 members of LOSPA and 1 member of RPP in the state assembly.

The ruling and opposition parties have been accusing the state government of not being able to work. When Chief Minister Yadav took the vote of confidence for the third time, in the meeting of the state assembly, the parliamentarians of the power partner party accused the state government of not doing its job. The power alliance party is angry with Chief Minister Yadav's nature of not holding meetings of power partner parties, not discussing and trying to walk alone. Chief Minister Yadav claims that the speed of the state government has slowed down due to frequent vote of confidence and changes in chief secretaries. He said that three chief secretaries were changed without his knowledge during his one and a half year tenure. Dinesh Ghimire, the chief secretary of Madhesh, was recently transferred.

Jaspa, which is the third power in Madhesh, became the Chief Minister after the election with the help of UML and Maoists. When the vote of confidence was taken for the first time, only 102 MPs present in the state assembly meeting voted for him. Yadav took the vote of confidence for the second time after the Maoists left the UML at the center and allied with the Congress. At that time, only 103 MPs who were present in the state assembly meeting voted in his favor. 35 MPs stood against Chief Minister Yadav in the third vote of confidence taken after Janmat Party left the government.

On Tuesday, LOSPA withdrew from the government by recalling its ministers. LOSPA has called back Forest and Environment Minister Ramesh Kurmi Patel in the Madhesh government. LOSPA MP Upendra Mahato informed that he has already resigned. Mahato said that the activities of the Madhesh government were not satisfactory and his party was under pressure to not be a part of its bad deeds and withdrew its support.

Sabotage in the state assembly

While Yadav is taking the vote of confidence, Janmaat and Congress MPs have vandalized the state assembly. The MPs also pulled the microphone of Speaker Ram Chandra Mandal. After the incident, the Speaker Mandal adjourned the meeting for some time. The MPs protested saying that they were trying to force the meeting.

Before that, Janmaat surrounded the rostrum demanding the formation of a parliamentary inquiry committee into the deadly attack on Rajviraj on January 8 in the presence of Chief Minister Yadav. Chandan Singh, spokesman of the Janmat Party and state MP Chandan Singh, objected to the fact that the parliamentary inquiry committee on the attack, the report of the parliamentary committee formed to investigate the transfer of funds and the meeting of the management consultation committee was called on Tuesday without holding the meeting of the state assembly.

After UML MP Dipendra Thakur said that the beating on the then minister of Janmaat Party, Mahesh Kumar Yadav, was personal and Parliament should not be obstructed on personal matters, the MPs of Janmaat and Congress surrounded the rostrum in anger. Then Speaker Ramchandra Mandal adjourned the meeting of the state assembly for 10 minutes.

In the next meeting held after about 5 hours, after the Speaker Mandal gave time to present the vote of confidence to Chief Minister Yadav, the public opinion and the Congress MPs got angry and went on a rampage. When the adjourned meeting resumed for 10 minutes, MPs from Congress, Janmat and LOSPA boycotted the meeting.
