France beat Belgium 1-0 in Euro 2024 on Monday with a suicide goal by Yann Vertogen at the end of the game. With this victory, France has also reached the quarter-finals. France will now face Portugal in the quarter-finals.
In the 85th minute, Randal Kolo's low shot was deflected by Vertogen and turned into a goal when the match without level and excitement was heading towards extra time. Didier Deschamps' France struggled for goals once again.
France, which is claiming the title in this year's Euro, has not been able to score from open-play. With the defeat, the golden generation of Belgium has failed once again and they have reached the end of the team.
