Rautahat-based Rural Development Center on Tuesday provided food assistance to about 1,700 families in Chandrapur and Rajpur municipalities of the district.

Food aid to the poor

Rural Development Center (RDC) Nepal has distributed rice, wheat, flour, linseed oil, mustard oil, sugar, different types of pulses to 691 households in Chandrapur. During a program, the mayor of Chandrapur, Sanjay Kumar Kafle, gave food to the poor family members.

"The poor families of the village feel a lot of relief with this kind of support," said Mayor Kafle, "Many people are deprived of food due to extreme poverty." There is also a lack of employment among them.'

With the help of Islamic Relief Nepal, Rural Development Center Nepal has distributed food and other materials to the people of 1 thousand 9 households in different wards of Chandrapur municipality and different wards of Rajpur municipality from the third week of February. The president of the center, Paras Hussain, said that the project distributed the materials after identifying the needy families and realizing their needs.
