The Ministry of Health and Population has stated that it is against the law for doctors and health workers to work full-time in private health institutions.

Asking doctors working in the government not to work in the private sector

Secretary of the Ministry, Madhusudan Burlakoti, issued an appeal and asked the doctors and health workers working under the Ministry not to work full-time in private health institutions as it is against the existing law.

'Since complaints have been received that doctors and health workers and staff working under the ministry are working full-time in private health institutions operating in the country and government or private health institutions abroad, regardless of whether or not they have approved the leave, the ministry has drawn serious attention in this regard,' it is said in the appeal. Working in this way is contrary to the prevailing laws and regulations, so the Ministry sincerely requests the doctors, health workers and employees involved in this work to act in a restrained and legal manner.'
